LORAZEPAM is a short to medium-acting benzodiazepine tranquilizer that has sedative/hypnotic, amnesic (memory disturbance), anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant qualities. Since 1971, LORAZEPAM has been primarily prescribed to treat the symptom of anxiety.
